Telepop presents Dance of The Dead

Tonight, we're turning Telepop into something called Dance Of The Dead. The non-joke works better when you see the posters (Dawn... pastiche etc etc etc).

Anyway, it'll very fun and absolutely packed. Lots of Halloween style fun and records and the like. Jim Cassius will be playing novelty, groovy charity shop nonsense and scary easy listening, Thirty Two will be playing genuine vintage new wave and camp French house, James Hammond will play The Smiths and Don't Falter by Mint Royale and we'll have our secret special guest playing Japanese pop records and badly recorded garage from somewhere like Ohio.

What more could you ask for?

Eight till two at The Glasshouse, Southport (off Lord Street).

Plus: special Sunday night, actual Halloween party from eight till midnight at The Glasshouse as well with even more stupidity in the face of zombies. Yup, two times Telepop in one week. Woo.

What a great night hey? Last night was maybe the best yet...bloody brilliant all round. Big thanks to Josh Dodd for his ace breaks set. He's gonna come back for sure!

Getting excited about the Halloween 'DANCE OF THE DEAD' extravaganza next week. Be there.

We've also got some very exciting news...as well as our Thursday night shindig, we're gonna do Halloween night itself. So, you've got Telepop's DANCE OF THE DEAD on Thursday and a special one on the Sunday. More details about the surprises for both nights that we've got in store coming (in a ghost voice) soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon.

Lost of fun and games planned for Thursday night. Why, you ask? Well, let me tell you. We've got two special DJ treats lined up. On from eight is Jim Cassius with a special oddbeat set for the early birds. We've then got special guest Josh Dodd at ten with a bunch of superb funk, hip hop and breaks. Telepop residents James Hammond and DJ Worried Shoes will then do there thang way into the relevant tomorrow, playing everything from The Smiths to other songs by The Smiths. Unfortunately, this bloke pulled out at the last minute.

I, for one, am looking forward to it.

So yeah, we play what we play for the people down the railway tracks, out to Tarleton and Ormskirk. So, Thursday was fun. Lots of people came and my how we danced. Same thing next Thursday, okay? My top tip would be to get there early and listen to DJ Worried Shoes spinning from eight. He knows a good tune when he hears one and will no doubt make you have to go and buy things/download things if you're of the criminal bent. On Thursday we also got an anonymous DJ in (clue: member of the best band in Liverpool), he will also be returning soon cos he was very, very good.

R.I.P. Telepop at Code...bring on The Glasshouse

Last night was the last Telepop at Code. After a brief and passionate affair, Code ain't on our team no more. It's leaving to spend more time with its family or something...

Basically, we're moving to the newly decked out and newly taken over Glasshouse. It's where it used to be. Both The Glasshouse and Telepop itself are under new management so it should be a veritable musical cocktail of newness. We're getting in a new soundsystem, new DJs and kicking it off good style on Thursday. We'll be opening the doors at eight and doing the cha-cha twist right through till two. And, hurrah, it's free to get in and there'll be cheapo drinks offers - £1.50 a pint/bottle and all that.
